Just 1,049 nautical miles from Cebu, not to mention visa-free for Filipinos, Hong Kong is definitely an easy choice to go to for a quick international vacation. Whether it’s sightseeing, food trip, shopping or just a quick breather, Hong Kong offers a plethora of activities to make your visit perfect the way you want your vacay to be.

With Cebu Pacific Air flying daily from Mactan Cebu International Airport to Hong Kong (and vice versa), you’ll cruise the skies conveniently within your budget, and arrive in Asia’s World City in less than 4 hours!

I’d be honest and tell you that Hong Kong holds a special place in my heart as it’s the first international destination I’d been to. It was during the winter of 2005 with my 3-month pregnant sister for a quick escape. “I’ll enjoy this adventure before motherhood takes over,” she said. I remember her crying (I cried with her too. haha) as we watched the fireworks at Hong Kong Disneyland. And yes, it was the last travel we had together. Ok, now am missing my sister. Sniff, sniff.

A country where east meets west in a harmonious fusion of culture, shopping, and enchantment, Hong Kong continues to be Filipinos’ top international destination travel of choice. And with Hong Kong opening its doors to foreigners again, it’s time to rediscover the vibrant country.

My recent quick 7-day HK summer vacay this July was a combination of the old and new attractions that made me rediscover its wonders and experience more of Hong Kong’s ever evolving scene. I’ll be sharing with you part one of my HK trip blog – a 3-day itinerary which you can use as your guide to plan a long weekend vacation in Hong Kong. Come with me and let’s #DiscoverHongKong together.

Day 1: Unveiling Lantau Island’s Treasures

Morning: Arrive in Hong Kong and kick start the adventure by immersing in the serenity of Ngong Ping Village. Take the scenic Ngong Ping 360 Crystal Cabin cable car ride, soaring above lush landscapes, and arrive at the Ngong Pin Village and walk your way through the awe-inspiring Tian Tan Buddha. Then bask in the tranquility of Po Lin Monastery and offer prayers of health, love, peace and prosperity.

After, take the cable car back to Tung Chung and have late lunch at a Chinese Restaurant at Citygate Outlets before indulging in retail therapy. If you’re into shopping, you’ll find awesome deals on local and international brands here. Time to find the perfect souvenirs or that stylish addition to your wardrobe.

Citygate Outlets

Return to the city and squeeze in a quick visit at the newest mall in TST – K11 Musea, to grab coffee or do some shopping.

Then check-in at the hotel. Rest up for the excitement that awaits on Day 2!

Day 2: Art, Shopping, and Scenic Heights

Morning: Time to get inspiration and immerse your artistic soul at M+ museum in West Kowloon Cultural District. Discover the beauty of visual culture through awe-inspiring exhibitions showcasing contemporary art, design, and more. If you are a fan of Yayoi Kusama, be sure to visit her installation at the Basement 2. Also, don’t miss to visit Filipina National Artist Pacita Abad’s “I Have One Million Things to Say” on the 2nd Floor.

Shop and dine in style at Harbour City, a shopping, leisure and dining paradise along the beautiful Victoria Harbour. Don’t miss the mall’s art gallery and grab limited exclusive merch from the artists too! And get to try a blend of classic and new Hong Kong in a cup at Tea Moment! Had a refreshing cup of Iced milk tea and I am obsessed!

Before sunset: Ascend to the skies at Sky 100, located on the 100th floor of the International Commerce Centre. Be captivated by breathtaking 360-degree views of Hong Kong’s iconic skyline and picturesque Victoria Harbour.

Day 3: A Day of Enchantment at Disneyland

Today, the magic awaits as it’s Hong Kong Disneyland day! Pro tip, purchase priority access to save you time and cover more of the rides and attractions. It’s also great to pre-plan your route to maximize your time! During summer, be sure to bring a reusable water bottle to save you big bucks on drinking water, and time lining up to get refreshments. And bring sunblock too!

Used my 3 Priority Access at Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars Ride at Grizzly Gulch, and Spiderman and Ironman at Tomorrowland!

I highly recommend the Lion King show too! Get me feeling really emotional every time!

And stay for the fireworks! Momentous show definitely will leave you in awe!

And whoelse is excited for Arendelle and Elsa’s Castle which is set to open by the last quarter of 2023?

Day 4: Farewell Hong Kong, Until We Meet Again

Morning: As your 3-day adventure comes to an end, take a moment to cherish the memories you’ve created in this awesome metropolis. Depart from Hong Kong with a heart filled with fondness for the captivating experiences.

Remember that this itinerary is designed to give you a taste of Hong Kong’s wonders, but the country has so much more to offer! Feel free to extend your stay or customize the journey to suit your interests and desires.
