76th Korean National Day in Cebu: A Celebration of Korean Culture and Friendship

It was a night of color, culture, and connection as Cebu joined in celebrating the 76th Korean National Day last October 17, 2025, at the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug. Hosted by Consul General Yim Jeanhyuk, the event brought together special guests from the hospitality industry, local government, and longtime Korean partners and friends — all gathered to honor the enduring friendship between South Korea and Cebu.

Guests were greeted with a festive ambiance that perfectly blended elegance and excitement. There was a Hanbok area, where everyone could try on the beautiful traditional Korean attire, and a photo booth that kept cameras clicking all night long. To kick things off, guests were treated to Korean snacks as appetizers — a delicious prelude to the international buffet that followed.

The evening’s highlight came alive with K-pop inspired performances by the talented Young Villains and The Glitz, who had everyone cheering with their high-energy numbers and show-stopping moves. The celebration radiated the warmth and unity that have long defined the bond between South Korea and the Philippines — especially here in Cebu, where cultural exchange continues to thrive.

As the night came to a close, one thing was clear: the 76th Korean National Day wasn’t just a commemoration — it was a beautiful celebration of friendship, shared traditions, and the joy of two nations growing closer together.
