Cebu Creators Circle’s Paws of Love 2 at 8 Banawa Centrale Raises 1,547 Kilos of Pet Food for Happy Tails

What started with a goal of 1,000 kilos became 1,547 kilos of kindness.

On October 4, 2026, Cebu Creators Circle brought together creators, pet lovers, animal advocates, partners, and members of the Cebu community for Paws of Love Year 2, celebrated at 8 Banawa Centrale.

The date couldn’t have been more meaningful. October 4 is World Animal Day and also the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals—making it the perfect day for a celebration centered on compassion, responsible pet ownership, and giving back to animals in need.

And this year, the Cebu community showed up in a much bigger way than expected.

From a 1,000-Kilo Goal to 1,547 Kilos of Love

Paws of Love Year 2 began with one big target: raise 1,000 kilos of pet food for Happy Tails Sanctuary.
It was already an ambitious jump from the 736 kilos raised during the first Paws of Love in 2025.
But throughout the campaign, donations kept coming. Individuals brought what they could. Creators rallied their communities. Brands and organizations stepped forward with their support. And on October 4, more bags, packs, and sacks of pet food arrived at 8 Banawa Centrale.
When everything was finally counted, Cebu Creators Circle had raised 1,547 kilos of pet food—547 kilos beyond its original goal.
That’s more than one and a half tons of food that will help fill the bowls of rescued animals under the care of Happy Tails.

But beyond the number, every kilo represented something bigger: a community choosing to care.

A World Animal Day Celebration With Purpose

Paws of Love wasn’t designed to be just a drop-off point for donations.
The celebration also gave pet owners and visitors an opportunity to learn more about animal welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the everyday care our furry companions deserve.

Dr. Ryan Yandug led the Pet Care Talk, sharing practical knowledge and reminding pet parents that caring for an animal goes far beyond providing food and affection. It means understanding their health, their needs, and the responsibility that comes with welcoming an animal into the family.

The event also helped put the spotlight on pet adoption, encouraging more people to consider giving rescued animals something even more valuable than a meal—a safe and loving forever home.

A Thanksgiving Mass and Blessing for Our Pets

One of the most meaningful moments of the celebration was the Thanksgiving Mass and Pet Blessing led by Fr. Jhun Paradiang, SBD.
Held in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, families gathered with their pets for a special moment of gratitude and blessing.
It was a fitting scene for World Animal Day: people standing alongside the animals who have become such an important part of their lives.
Because for many of us, they’re no longer simply pets.

They’re family.
They’re the ones waiting at the door when we come home, sitting beside us on difficult days, and somehow knowing when we need a little extra love.
The blessing was a simple but beautiful reminder that the way we treat animals reflects the compassion we choose to bring into the world.

It Took a Community

Reaching 1,547 kilos wasn’t something Cebu Creators Circle could have accomplished alone.

At the heart of Paws of Love Year 2 was a community of organizations and brands that believed in the cause and helped turn the 1,000-kilo goal into something even bigger.

8 Banawa Centrale, the event’s Official Venue Partner, opened its doors to the community and became home to this year’s World Animal Day celebration.

Paws of Love Year 2 was also made possible with the generous support of Oh myyy Goodest!, Royal Canin, Azu, The Pet Store Company, Animal Wellness Veterinary Clinic, and True Value.

Their support, together with the donations of creators, organizations, businesses, families, pet parents, and individuals across Cebu, helped push the campaign well beyond its target.

And then there were the volunteers and members of Cebu Creators Circle who worked behind the scenes—from organizing the campaign and coordinating partners to creating content, spreading the word, receiving donations, and making sure everything came together on October 4.

Every share mattered. Every post mattered. Every volunteer mattered.

And yes, every kilo mattered.

When Cebu Shows Up

Perhaps the biggest story of Paws of Love Year 2 wasn’t any single activity on the program.
It was seeing what happens when people decide to show up for a cause together.
It was in the person carrying one bag of pet food through the doors of 8 Banawa Centrale
It was in the brands that contributed sacks and supplies.
It was in creators using their platforms not simply for views, but to encourage their communities to take action.
It was in families bringing their pets for a blessing, people listening and learning during the Pet Care Talk, and volunteers giving up their Sunday to help.

Paws of Love started with a very simple idea: if enough people give even a little, together we can give a lot.

This year proved exactly that. A target of 1,000 kilos became 1,547 kilos.

More Than a Ton of Hope

For Cebu Creators Circle, Paws of Love has always been about using the power of community and influence for something that goes beyond social media.

The numbers are worth celebrating, but the real impact will be seen in the days and weeks ahead—in bowls filled with food, rescued animals receiving care, and shelters being given a little more breathing room to continue the work they do every day.

On October 4, at 8 Banawa Centrale, Cebu didn’t just celebrate World Animal Day.

Cebu showed up for the animals.

And because hundreds of people, creators, organizations, sponsors, and partners decided to help, Paws of Love Year 2 didn’t just reach its goal.

It went 547 kilos beyond it.

1,547 kilos of pet food. One Circle. One community. Countless full tummies.

That is Paws of Love.
