Vietjet opens direct flights from Cebu to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City this November 2026
CEBU JUST GOT CLOSER TO VIETNAM!
For Cebu travelers, Vietnam is about to become an even easier weekend—or week-long escape.
Starting November 10, 2026, Vietjet Air is expanding its Philippine network with new nonstop connections linking Cebu and Vietnam, giving travelers direct access to two cities that offer completely different sides of the country. The Cebu–Hanoi route begins November 10, while direct Cebu–Ho Chi Minh City flights begin November 11. Both connections are scheduled to operate three times weekly.
And for anyone who has been putting Vietnam on the travel list, this might be the nudge you’ve been waiting for.
TWO CITIES, TWO VERY DIFFERENT VIETNAM EXPERIENCES
Hanoi is for travelers who like their cities layered with history. Think mornings with Vietnamese coffee, bowls of steaming pho, scooters weaving through the Old Quarter, French colonial architecture and evenings wandering around Hoan Kiem Lake. It also makes an excellent gateway for exploring northern Vietnam—from Ninh Binh and Sapa to the limestone landscapes of Ha Long Bay.
Then there is Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam turned up several notches. Instead of routing through Manila or another regional hub, you can leave Mactan-Cebu International Airport and land directly in Vietnam. Vietjet says the new routes are part of its wider expansion between Vietnam and the Philippines, with each Cebu service operating three round trips per week.
And here’s another interesting possibility: fly into Hanoi and make your way south through Vietnam before flying home from Ho Chi Minh City—or do the journey in reverse. Vietjet also operates extensively within Vietnam, making a multi-city trip much easier to piece together.
The timing also makes Vietnam particularly tempting for Cebu travelers looking for another relatively close Southeast Asian destination.
