If you’re searching for a picture-perfect escape just a train ride away from Osaka, Amanohashidate should be on your must-visit list! Known as one of Japan’s “Three Scenic Views,” this natural wonder is a dreamy sandbar covered in lush pine trees, stretching across Miyazu Bay like a bridge to the heavens. And the best place to take in its beauty? Amanohashidate Viewland—a mountaintop paradise offering stunning panoramic views and a dose of adventure!

Getting to Amanohashidate Viewland from Osaka
Getting to Amanohashidate is a breeze! Hop on the JR Limited Express “Kounotori” or “Hashidate” from Osaka Station and ride to Fukuchiyama Station. From there, transfer to the Kyoto Tango Railway bound for Amanohashidate Station.
Note: Prior reservation from Fukuchiyama to Amanohashidate is required. Please book your tickets ahead at the JR-West Information Center.

Once you arrive, it’s just a short stroll to the monorail or chairlift that will whisk you up to Viewland. Feeling adventurous? Take the open-air chairlift for a fun and scenic ride up, or opt for the monorail for a more relaxed ascent.

For a fun twist, try the famous “Matanozoki” pose—bend over and peek at the view upside down through your legs! This quirky tradition makes the sandbar look like a bridge floating in the sky, hence the nickname “Heaven’s Bridge.”
